ALUMNI LINE: DIGITAL MAGAZINE

Founded in 2009, Lincoln University's Alumni Line is a digital and print magazine created in accordance with the Office of Alumni Affairs and University Relations with a readership of over 100,000.  Designed as an all encompassing overview of Lincoln University; this biannual publication seeks to raise awareness of the institution's academic achievements, fundraising milestones and alumni success stories. This magazine is sent free of charge to all alumni and constituents of Lincoln University in the U.S. and abroad as well as to faculty, staff, and students.


MY ROLE: Assisted senior editors with all phases of the production of the magazine, including contacting contributors and publication content requested by senior staff. Developed article content in accordance with senior editors standards and AP writing style.  Copy, edited, and reviewed content for the magazine. Provided design support for graphic layout and design of magazine. Traveled to events related to the publication's content and audience to capture photographic imagery featured in the magazine.

MEDIA ADVISORY/PRESS RELEASES

A collection of public relations announcements issued to the news media and other targeted publications for the purpose of developing media relations hits and garner strategic media pick-up.


MY ROLE: Controlled the quality of messaging in all written materials to ensure best, most updated and approved language is utilized. Monitored and leveraged relevant news and media mentions to enhance media relations plan - identifying trending topics, opportunities to engage in the conversation as well as potential brand threats. Attended designated events to provide accurate and relevant details for future releases. Liaison between external media outlets and internal communications department to ensure all written content meets brand standards and approval by executive leadership.  


LU CONNECTION/PRESIDENT'S ADDRESS: E-MAIL/BLOG/NEWSLETTER

"LU Connection" and "President's Address"  are online communication news blasts from the Lincoln University Office of Advancement.  Disturbed to a readership of over 10,000 subscribers weekly these publications provided consistent updates of campus activities, department updates, and activities of Lincoln University's president.


My Role: Served as an article contributor for e-newsletter as well as manage content, timelines, and the distribution. Collaborated with website designer to create digital archival database to view full publication after e-mail distribution.  Developed and managed email marketing campaigns and recurring transactional and triggered emails from planning through analysis. Incorporated multimedia elements (video, photos and graphics) to increase user engagement. Monitored reader engagement through Constant Contact analytics. Oversaw the creative direction of new promotional emails and landing pages.

MULTIMEDIA COPYWRITING

A series of different samples of my copywriting abilities to me published on several platforms to effectively communicate a clear, concise message. 



MY ROLE: Collaborated with art director on multiple client projects, including videos, out-of-home campaigns, and social media campaigns. Provided advisement and crafted writing brand manuals for clients identifying their targeted demographic and how to reach them. Created copywriting guides that educate clients on how to verbally communicate their brand.  Generate conceptual ideas (visual and copy-based) for brand initiatives and collaborate closely with the creative team at large. Design graphics for social media consumption and model applications to accompany copy writing.

SCRIPT WRITING

Original scripts produced to effectively articulate a campaigns message and provide direction to the overall tone of a project prior to production. This includes but is not limited to live speaking engagements and digital advertisements.


MY ROLE: To oversee content for a variety of live performances including theatrical,  academic  and cinematic. Actively connect campaign's voice and tone, talking points, research and strategic direction to spoken or performed content. Provide rewrites and extensive creative development for multiple departments.
